1. Why do we need to backup?
If you never do a backup, you will never recover your data when you need it.Regardless of the hazard of the operating system itself, or any human error involved, your valuable data could be gone in few seconds. If you don't want to lose any important information, you better do a backup in a regular basis.
2. What types of backup tools are there? Do I need them all?
The market is flooded with many backup tools but you do not need to have all of it depending on your needs. They can be divided into three main categories - 1) Backup for the entire OS, such as Norton Ghost and Acronis True Image; 2) Backup for files and folders, such as Backup4all; 3) Backup for drivers, such as Driver Genius.
3. At what time should I get my data backed up?
There is not a standard answer, depending on different circumstances. If the type of data that are constantly changing, you may want to backup them more frequently, likewise if they seldom change (static), you may do a backup less often.
